| Goodnews River Lodge is especially proud of our outstanding Rainbow Trout fishing. Rainbows caught on the Goodnews River typically range from 20" to 25" with an occasional 30" or ten-pound "lunker" caught every year! |

| Each year the Goodnews River also hosts a world-class Dolly Varden run. It is not uncommon to land fifty dollies in a day! The average dolly caught measures between 18" and 20". |

King Salmon are commonly caught on the fly
after a battle
that may last up to two hours on the Goodnews River! Theyll weigh-in at forty pounds plus!
From late July through early August, anglers may want to fish for Pink Salmon a feisty little Salmon that is fun to hook. |
| For those interested in Chum Salmon, weve got great holes for landing these "kaleidoscope-scaled monsters." While many anglers have heard tales of the great fighting ability found in King and Silver salmon, few know that Chum salmon are extremely aggressive fish, too. They will definitely command your attention when hooked on the end of the line... be ready for a screaming initial run! |

Test your Gear on Silver Salmon | |
| Above all, the Goodnews River is probably best known for its Silver Salmon runs. Forty fish days are not uncommon. Weighing-in at up to twenty pounds Coho Salmon are undoubtedly the hardest fighting of all Pacific Salmon! These fish can be caught on surface flies, providing exciting - and rewarding - top water angling. |

| We know how temperamental anglers can be regarding the gear they use in their quest to land the perfect fish, so all anglers are invited to bring their own gear (gear is available upon request). We provide all terminal tackle and flies, although anglers are welcome to use their own favorite fly patterns. For a no charge, guests may borrow rods and waders. |
